Bette Davis Eyes
Making life performance perfect. The magic of SING!
I'm just shy because I missed my cue.
I can be shy or be a rocket ship - just depends on my mood. I'm not ashamed of me.
I value my Self at any size, any shape, and at any age. And I like Bette Davis Eyes.

{A Place to Be Brave. To Try New Things}
As a recovering shy + shame, Flamingo It! is about my love of music and my love/hate relationship with performance. To be my authentic self, celebrate the ability to play music, and feel the music {again} with my whole heart & soul is my vision.
So I am reframing my music life to love who I really am and place the hate properly on the who I was expected to be. I no longer have to try to be something I am not.
The truth shall set us free.
Unforgettable
Being a performer is an unforgettable experience. Some recall their moment with horror and chagrin while others remember the rush and the fire and the need to repeat it again and again as they answer the call to the stage. Center stage calls me!
My playlists are all of cameo songs. One-hit wonders. Artists that rose to the top but didn’t stay on the world stage or do world tours. When I think of an unforgettable song, I think of Bette Davis Eyes sung by Kim Carnes in her gravelly voice.
The song "Bette Davis Eyes," famously sung by Kim Carnes in 1981, is about a captivating, strong, and mysterious woman whose distinctive, alluring eyes are compared to those of legendary Golden Age actress Bette Davis. The lyrics describe a femme fatale with powerful, expressive eyes, drawing inspiration from Davis's iconic roles and persona, and were written by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon after watching Davis in the film Now, Voyager.
Intense & Unforgettable
Bette Davis’ eyes are her defining feature, hinting at secrets and a challenging personality that’s hard to resist. Kim’s voice is also unforgettable and intense.
Inspirations
For a bit of music study, I am currently exploring SING! Find Your True Voice by Mary Setrakian a renown Master Voice Teacher. A vocal coach to Oscar, Grammy and Emmy Award winning artists, of those who can sing and those who have never sang. Mary unlocks the potential of the human voice and also frees the human spirit. She connects vocal technique with the emotional life. Working with Mary is life-changing.
The Revolutionary Send
Tone and deliverance. Body → Mind → Emotions. You are the vessel. There is a process of how to find your true voice by learning how your Body works (Voice Technique), use your Mind to understand all the concepts, courageously step into your Emotions and Sing. The Revolutionary Send is letting your gift LIVE in the most powerful and dynamic way possible.
Next post will cover more on the aspects on the Body, Mind, Emotions, The Vessel (You) and how the magic happens.

Performance with a whole new attitude.
From raspy to ultra smoothie.
Carol of the Bells by Pentatonix
Video presentations and studio recordings are amazing. Our family produced demos and full recordings on 16-track systems with multiple sessions. I was brought up to avoid tripping over wires and not mashing amplifier buttons and controls.
My true love is flash mob performances. I come alive inside the music and the artistry of performance. The spontaneity and wonder that is brought before an unexpectant crowd who become an audience in a shared experience is a phenomenon in time.

A re-balance of life, destination, and the journey of HERE
I didn’t get HERE because I’m a great self-marketer. In fact I detest marketing. A lifetime of graphic advertising cured me. Deadlines melt me. I am here because I was inspired by Beth Kempton - by joining her free 2023 Winter Writer’s Sanctuary where I learned how to set up a Substack homepage and About page created from my writings in the week long course. Her 2025 Winter Writer’s Sanctuary starts next week! Join by subscribing and reserving your spot on her Substack page at Beth Kempton or directly at her website Do What You Love For Life

Re-Framing of a Music Life
2024 was been a transitional year.
2025 brought the music back.
2026 Music & Play!
{Focus} + {Heart & Soul} = {Daring Greatly}
This entire year has been spent exploring my creative passions. I felt that I must choose between Art or Music or Writing. I thought I could only have ‘One band, One sound’ to stay sane and productive. But the answer came from Journey to Wonderland, where I discovered being a Multipotentialite is O.K. I am an Artist of Muchness. If you are one too, please say 🤗 Hello.
All the Best! Until we music again!
