who does she think she is, a flamingo?
yeah.
how dare she try something new!- the pigeons
The view up HERE is spectacular!
Yay, me!
I'm doing 'It'!- the Flamingo
If you are surrounded by pigeons, perhaps you're out of your flock.
when things look hopeless
Enter skunks below the house. Egad! the odiferous scent that will not leave. Add temper tantrums from the 4 year-old. All have been non-stop the same week. Family plans, life interruptions, illness, a delayed conversation, and a flamboyant loss of Mojo.
Feeling Sorry opens the door to invite Negative Self-Talk and its companion I Told You So.
It happens. Especially when one reaches a corner, dares to move forward, and now sees the new shining distant land so dreamed of for so long.
What to do:
1. Be honest with self about goals.
2. Grab ahold of one's buoy line tightly.
3. Overcome all self-doubts by facing squarely.
4. Accept delays with grace. Without fretting.
5. Go forward more wise.
{Setting Goals} Through a series of fall-into-place events from seeming disaster to heaven opening its doors, this past week has been a trip around the world of emotion and lessons learned. The question in need of answer: What is my reality? Dream -> Action Steps -> Reality.
{Setting Buoy line} The buoy line connects Point A to Point B across a body of water. The buoy line provides a safe hold to stay on course. My buoy line establishes the 3 things that I must have to live life and stay on course.
Sobriety | Grounded -> Positivity| All Good -> Persona | True Me
When I find myself in deep and rough waters, I can immediately know where I let go of my buoy line and drifted out to sea. Did I lose my groundedness? Did negativity creep in? Was I afraid to be authentic?
{Setting Boundaries} Knowing when to say No. Knowing one's truth. Knowing what is controllable and what is not controllable. Owning the importance of self-care {actually more important than caring for others}. Practicing self-love {I am wild-eyed about me}. Saying aloud what my #3 heroine says: "Aging is a privilege." - Lindsey Stirling {awesome!}
when we feel helpless
6. We change our attitude.
Attitude is simply the stance of the mind {where we stand on things}.
We always have the ability to change our minds {regardless}.
7. We make a decision to be positive and be the positive influence in the lives of those around us.
This means we take out the trash ourselves.
We buy flowers and share their beauty in our surroundings.
Remember that just before the dawn, it is the darkest. Perhaps it is a test given to see whether we have the character to follow-through on our dreams or just call It quits.
Never hopeless.
Never helpless.
We pick the winning side.
keeping It
My song writing and vision of performance has come full circle: from believing to disbelieving, to starting and stopping, to walking away and back again - out to center stage.
Suddenly
Unexpected
Completely
Arpeggios, scales, slurs and slides make sense. The relationship between the verse - pre-chorus - chorus is established. The making of a cover song my own is simple. I can see the shape of It. After 12 years, the answer appeared out of a set of connected circumstances that I could never have orchestrated. I look up and say, "Thank you."
keeping It vague
Surprised by the skunks below and an odiferous situation which became a day free to watch the song writing process and become inspired by my #3 heroine. I simply had turned it all over, the frustration, the powerlessness, the wanting to label it all negatively.
I believe the power of a vision must be kept sacred.
Not to puff up.
Not to shrink from.
But to stand our sacred ground.
keeping It real
There is a lot of work ahead. Practice. Trusting. Turning over and Letting go.
Being a flamingo is not super flounce nor prance.
Between the dream and the reality is the journey of faith to walk and a new exploring of self-trust. Belief in oneself and in one's dream to revisit, but this time with a wholehearted lifestyle.
keeping It inspired
Honestly, true artistry should come with a warning label.
Creativity treated with casualness will simply drift away. Inspiration ignored will evaporate into thin air. Opportunities that are right are only there for a time. Then they become 'missed opportunities'.
'Carpe Diem' is a quote most artists know and use:
Carpe Diem {Latin}
for
Seize The Day
Masterpieces just don't happen. The artist must be present and become proficiency with their tools. The performer must practice often. The imaginaire must show up to their imagination.
Right now is an odd moment in my life. It has become 'btween' - the connection of dots appeared beautifully mapping the way - but showing up at the same time: diversion, divisiveness, and an opportunity with a death grip that did not fit.
This is what I learned. Deal with diversion and divisiveness directly. If an opportunity appears that creates doubt and uncertainty, don't even entertain it. Say not for me and continue on.
Above all, to thine own self be true.
keeping It free
There are many good ideas from many good people with pretty good intentions. But their dream is not my dream. My dream is something only I can pursue until it comes true.
So, I give myself the freedom to be free to pursue my dream, taking the time it takes, mapping and re-mapping my road, creating my vision boards, and enjoying this journey!
I am btween the Dream and the Come True.
A re-balance of life, destination, and the journey of HERE
A New Heartfelt Stage
{A Place to Be Brave. To Try New Things}
